For this piece and the piece below called "Jerry Bears" I used a technique called etching. It involves making marks on metal with a sharpie, ink, or nail polish. There are several mediums you can use which will protect the metal from as acid which etches away at the metal.
The process is sort of like printmaking. Once you have created an image on the metal with sharpie- or in the case of Pisces I ironed ink onto the sheet metal with the image I had printed out, you place the metal in the acis and let it sit there. The acid etches into the metal and works away at whatever is not protected or covered.
